REGULATIONS FOR THE 1. DESCRIPTION This event will be a National Non-Championship 4 x 4 Jamboree Event of approximately 60 km to be held at Rust de Winter Campsites, 100km north east of Pretoria, on "March 2009". The event will consist of different sections of cross-country routes of four wheeling terrain. The ideal time for completing the route will be 6 hours. Periodical time checks will be done along the route. 2. ROUTE The Gymkhana section will start at 07:00 on "March 2009" and the Main Route section will start at 06:00 on "March 2009". Drivers will depart at 2 minutes intervals or as may be determined by the Clerk of the Course. 3. SPONSORS Continental Others to be announced. 4.

8. ENTRIES 8.1 Entries open immediately and close at 12:00 on Friday 12 September 2008. Late entries may be accepted not later than 09:00 on Friday 3 October 2008 at an additional cost of R50.00. The entry fees are as follows :

: Per person per night R20 R20 8.2 The number of entries may be limited to 180. Entries will be treated on a first come, first served basis. 8.3 Navigators and passengers must sign indemnity forms, available on site. 9. DOCUMENTATION AND SCRUTINISING Competitors must report to the Start Marshal at the starting line on his time as explained during the drivers briefing or when called upon to do so. 10. COMPETITORS’ BRIEFING A competitors’ briefing will be held at 21:00 on Friday 21 September 2007 in the camp. All competitors are to be present at this briefing at the stipulated time and venue. Representatives will not be permitted. A register will be available for signature, the onus is on the competitor to ensure that he signs the register. 11. INDEMNITIES 12.1 Starting positions will be determined by position of entry received, e.g. first come, first served. 12.2 The start will be by verbal instruction at start line and at intervals as indicated. 12.3 The finishing line of the various sections will be shown on the route schedule. 12.4 Competitors will be supplied with a route schedule / map, detailing the course to be followed at the starting line. 13. COMPETITIONS NUMBERS Competition numbers will be supplied by the Organisers and must be fixed to the vehicle in a clearly visible position, as instructed. 14. CREWS 14.1 The persons carried in or on the vehicle are deemed to be it’s crew. 14.2 The number of crew members shall not exceed the vehicles maximum seating capacity. The vehicle shall not be permitted to move until every crew member is seated within the vehicle and strapped in where seatbelts are fitted. Nothing shall be permitted to protrude from the vehicle Competitors will be supplied with information deemed necessary by the Organisers for the due performance of the competition and the mode of operation, or direction to be followed, will be specified in the route schedule and these instructions will be binding on all competitors. This type of competition is not a speed event. The Clerk of the Course may exclude any competitor who, in his opinion, is driving too fast or recklessly in an obstacle or transport section. 17. EXCLUSION Competitors may be excluded or regarded as non-finishers at the discretion of the Organisers for: 17.1 Failing to stop at any control point and not carrying out the instruction as set out in the route schedule 17.2 Missing three or more check controls. 17.3 Failing to hand the route controlled schedule to the Organisers immediately after arriving at the finish of each section. 17.5 If it is reported to the Organisers before 18:00 on the day of the event that a competitor : 17.5.1 Drove dangerously or without due consideration for other road users; and / or 17.5.2 Behaved in such a manner likely to prejudice the interest or motor sport generally ; and / or 17.5.3 Allowed a person without a valid competition license to drive the competing vehicle during the event: and /or 17.5.4 Failed to declare to the Organisers on the incident report form provided, any incidents during the event involving any other person or property; and / or 17.5.5 Failed to afford an opportunity to pass or deliberately preventing passing. This conduct will be looked upon in a very bad light; and / or 17.5.6 Contravening any traffic rule or regulation; and / or 17.5.7 Reported to the Start Official at the start later than the due starting time; and / or 17.5.8 Driving the competing vehicle or being a passenger whilst intoxicated with alcohol as determined by law. Breath analyzer tests may be carried out if necessary. No alcohol of any nature may be carried on or in the vehicle. Competitors found guilty of this will be barred from entering the event in the future for a period determined by the organisers. 17.5.9 Failing to display the advertising materials such as stickers supplied by the sponsors in a prominent position on both sides of the vehicle. 18.
TOTAL POINTS Points achievable on Gymkahana - 500 points Points achievable in best equipped vehicle - 100 points 19.
RESULTS AND AWARDS
PRESENTATION 19.1.1 Unless circumstances arise which could cause unreasonable delay in announcing results after the event, it will be made available 08:00 on Monday 24 September 2007, at the prize giving venue, to allow competitors to check their scores against the score sheets. Any discrepancies must be reported to the Clerk of the Course within 30 minutes of the publication of provisional results. 19.1.2 Competitors attention is drawn to the correct manner of Protests, Appeals and Enquiries their right to protest and time limit for protests. 19.1.3 The prize giving will commence at 10:30 on Monday 24 September 2007 subject to no protest being received, and will be held on site. 20.
RIGHTS
OF THE CLERK OF THE COURSE – PROMOTERS AND ORGANISERS 20.1 The Clerk of the Course reserves the right to: 20.1.1 Alter the departure times and route if forced to so through weather conditions or for any other reason. 20.1.2 Alter the starting and scoring methods, if it is found necessary to do. 20.2 The Promoters / Organisers reserve the right, subject to the approval of MSA to : 20.2.1 Postpone, abandon or cancel the event for reasons of “force majeure”. In the event of postponement for more than 24 hours, entrants will be refunded their entry fee. 20.2.2 Refuse any entry. 20.2.3 Restrict the number of entries to 160 (one hundred and sixty) at the sole discretion of the Clerk of the Course. 21.

ACQUAINTANCE
WITH AND SUBMISSION TO THE RULES Competitors shall, by entering the competition, be deemed to have and recognise that they have made themselves acquainted, with the rules. 24.
ACCOMMODATION Competitors are requested to supply their own camping equipment and braaing facilities, including wood or charcoal. Competitors will not be permitted to chop up or cut any tress including branches of trees, which are dry and even branches that have fallen to the ground. 25.
ELECTRICAL
POWER Competitors are reminded that no electricity is available and alternative arrangement should be made. Portable generators are not allowed. 26.
WATER Please bring your own drinking water. It is intended that there will be sweep vehicles to pick up crewmembers that are injured or stranded. Competitors are to note that the Organisers are not obligated under any circumstances to provide any service for the recovery of vehicles although they will endeavor to help where possible. |
