RUST DE WINTER 4X4 JAMBOREE   

 We are pleased to inform you that you have been allocated a position in the 2008 RDW Jamboree that will take place from 4 to 6 October 2008.

1.      Entry fees.  

The entry fee for the Jamboree is R 280 for members and R360 for non-members. In addition to this a levy of R 50. per vehicle will be charged in lieu of road tax.  

Please bring your proof of payment with you to the event

2.      Alcohol

NO alcohol of any nature will be allowed on any vehicle or may be consumed by any competitor or person on a competing vehicle during the event. Tests will be conducted. Any indication of usage will lead to immediate exclusion from the event.  

3.      Rust de Winter Campsite.

It is recommended that you bring your own drinking water. Some water will be available from the bulk tank at a designated point.

Club members with permanent camping areas.

Please note that electrical appliances using a lot of electricity, such as kettles, hairdryers etc. may not be used. External lights must be restricted to one energy saver per camper. Gas appliances should be used for all other requirements.

Other club members and visitors.

Unfortunately it will not be possible to supply electricity to visitors. Extension cables will not be allowed from other supply boxes. Please bring along alternative appliances for your camping requirements.

The following items and services will be available in the camp area:

- Wood and ice

- Refreshments such as colddrinks and other alcoholic beverages.

- Snacks such as sweets, chips hamburgers, hot dogs etc.

 - Refreshments will be sold on the route on Sunday

In the case of members and visitors without permanent stands you are requested to please bring your portable braai to be used in the camp.

4.    Vehicle eligibility.

      It should be noted that all participating vehicles must be fully roadworthy in all aspects. Absence or modification of body parts such as fenders and lights will not be allowed. No pipe frame vehicle will be allowed. See attached detail list.

5.    Shows.

       On Monday morning before the prize giving the following categories of SHOW vehicles will be judged.

       1. Show and Go. This is a SHOW vehicle that have completed at least the main route on their own.

       2. Concourse de Elegance. These vehicle do not have to compete and only vehicles that are totally outstanding will be allowed to enter.

6.     Prize giving.

The prize giving will take place on Monday morning. Please attend this, as you will only qualify for a prize if you are present.

It is also fair to the sponsors that this function is attended.     

7.     Co Driver.

Please note that the co-driver must be older than 16 and be in a position to take control of the vehicle. The person who registered as the co-driver must remain so for the duration of the event. No exchanges will be allowed.

8.     Friday 3 October.

On Friday documentation and scruitineering will commence at 13:00 and continue until the drivers briefing at 21:00.

9.     Monday 6 October.

 Please note that this is a normal working day.

10.    Children entertainment.

          A comprehensive program has been compiled. Please bring along the following for your children to participate in the different events.

         - Costumes for swimming.

         - Clothes to be used during painting exercises.

         - Any item to be used in talent competition such as musical instruments, dancing, ballet singing etc.
